Tesla just announced Add-on for future homes- Solar Roof Tiles

Elon Musk said last Friday the Tesla Solar Roof tiles will “look better than a normal roof, generate electricity, last longer, have better insulation, and actually have an installed cost that is less than a normal roof plus the cost of electricity.”

Did you know that the sun provides enough energy in one hour to supply for the earth's energy needs for the entire year!

As of now there isn't any out of the world feature or technology that would make full use of this free energy ad hence Tesla have come up with the idea of rooftop solar tiles taht will capture the solar energy from the sun which can be utilized for immediate electricity use or can be stored in a Power-Wall Battery.

These Solar tiles will be integrated into the roof in such a way that they won't be visible from the street 


Features of the Solar Roof Tiles:

• Uses Integrated PhotoVolatic Cells
• These cells can gather enough energy to keep a standard house on power for the whole day
• These glass tiles are much stronger than ordinary tiles
• A home battery keeps the electricity running throughout the day and night

Now you must be wondering about the cost part, though Tesla hasn't announced any accurate price tag, it is believed to be quite reasonable as compared to the cost the electricity consumer in the United States would pay in a given year.

This is certainly a break through invention and given it is coming from Tesla is no big surprise.
